If they are frying beer at the State Fair of Texas what will they fry at the Maryland State Fair?

You heard me, fried beer. Yes, Mark Zable has patented and trademarked “fried beer." He is a finalist at the State Fair of Texas’s fried food competition. It is mini ravioli with a liquid beer centers. Zable says. "it doesn’t cook long enough to get rid of the alcohol content," so if you are under 21 expect to be carded. I’m not sure beer drinkers want hot beer, do you? I can't even think of a sauce I would put on this.

Going to the shore? Eat like a pig and drink like a fish – slide show

Last’s years vacation at the shore had us try The Pig & Fish in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, it was happenstance. We were spending one of our typical days in Rehoboth, walking Rehoboth Avenue and something about the name The Pig & Fish was enticing, the look fresh and clean and the menu with choices way beyond the typical shore fare; crab cakes, ribs and pizza.

With the house sitter scheduled, we are soon heading off to the shore for our annual vacation from the Baltimore doldrums. One of the things I don’t look forward to is the food. Honestly, I find most of the restaurants at the shore...
