Sushi Poppers™ for sushi eaters on the go

In my chronological order of awareness: push up ice cream rockets, push up bras, and now push up sushi in a tube – isn’t life great. Just like the ice cream rockets with a stick at the bottom you push the sushi up and “pop them in your mouth.”

Cheetos meltdown

I’m coming clean with all of you, I eat junk food – you know the kind; corn tortillas, pretzel sandwiches with cheese stuff in the middle and Cheetos. I am Pavlov’s theory in application, turn on the television and I must eat and carrot sticks just doesn’t cut it.

Whole Foods has a healthier version of the Styrofoam textured Cheetos but they just don’t have enough preservatives, salt or powdered cheese to cut it. They aren’t bad but they don’t hit the junk food spot. Read the full rant: Cheetos meltdown

Pazza Luna Restaurant - run, don't walk

You definitely feel the spirit of this Italian restaurant’s tag line ‘live by the sun, love by the moon’ when you enter its Tuscan gold interior and are greeted by Christa Rossi, wife and partner to Chef Davide Rossi. Christa met Davide over 10 years ago when working at Baltimore’s Sotto Sopra Restaurant. She worked the front of the house while Davide was one of the chefs. It was love, marriage, and then a move to Davide’s home country, Italy, where they remained for a couple of years. Lucky for us they came back to the United States where the pair opened a seasonal restaurant in Maine’s Boothbay Harbor called Ports of Italy and now, Baltimore’s Pazza Luna Restaurant.

Recipes from a bygone age - fine dining on the rails

How we traveled in the past in the United States starts with horseback, covered wagon and then the rails. From the trains, planes, buses and automobiles our choices updated and became one with the times. Today we are offered wi-fi options enabling us to surf the net on planes and buses. What hasn’t gotten better is the food. Microwaved edibles, sometimes unintelligible food stuffs, are served nowadays. Have you had the yellow cheese stuff with corn chips from the train’s snack car?

There are food ‘deserts’ in Baltimore city -who knew?

Do you realize that the convenience of having a supermarket near you, offering healthy food choices at competitive pricing is a blessing that we take for granted?
