City Dining Cards introduce new app for free discount dining

Back in April 2014 I wrote about City Dining Cards – the concept, was a deck of cards, 52 that offered $10 off on $30 purchases at 50 restaurants plus two bonus cards for freebies.  The cost to you was a mere $20. The cards were and are good through December 2015. They sold out, they are no more!

The Buffalo based company has just launched their City Dining App in Baltimore and Buffalo.  The cost to you is nada, zero, zippo –FREE not just for the app, but you get restaurant discounts at 50 handpicked Baltimore restaurants FREE – Yes FREE if you have an iPhone.  Android users, like me, will have to wait for our version. The discount applies to your FOOD, spend $20 on food get $5 off or spend $40 on food get $10 off. That is not all, once you have eaten at 12 of the locations in 12 months you get a $20 credit towards any one of the participating restaurants.  As the app grows, you will be able to use it in multiple cities. Bobby Flay opens his Bobby's Burger Palace in Baltimore

This is not the first Bobby Flay’s Burger Palace, in fact, it is the 19th, the fourth in Maryland but it is the first in Baltimore.  The Food Network culinary star Bobby Flay has created each burger at Bobby’s Burger Palace as a tribute to numerous American cities, highlighting the regional flavors.  The cooked-to-order burger can reflect notable regional foods like the Philadelphia Burger with provolone cheese, griddled onions and hot peppers, the Carolina Burger with smoked American cheese, green onion slaw and mustard, BBQ sauce, or the Dallas Burger, a spice crusted burger with coleslaw, Monterey Jack cheese, BBQ sauce and pickles.  Read the full story and watch the slideshow at Dining Examiner .com

Half price promotion on National Lasagna Day

Tuesday, July 28th is National Lasagna Day and BRIO Tuscan Grille is offering full-sized portions of lasagna at lunch and dinner at half the menu cost. Yes, you could take the hours it takes to make the lasagna at home but doesn’t half price and a cool kitchen sound better.

Instead of $18.65 for BRIO’S Lasagna Bolognese Al Forno, on July 28th you will only pay $9.33 for the multi-layered pasta with Bolognese meat and Alfredo sauce blended with ricotta and mozzarella cheese.

The caveats – the half price lasagna promotion does not apply to catering and children’s menus and while supplies last.
